Formatting a monthly playlist...
The Meat And Potatoes
Formally kicking off the 2023 year, a casual music listening project finds itself in a more structured format. The Music Memes project follows a monthly playlist on spotify; surgically compiled of no more than 10 note-worthy listens from throughout said month. That’s it. Pretty simple right? That’s the point.
Okay I lied, there ARE a few rules…
No more than 10 songs per playlist
No repeated songs/albums per calender year
No more than 2 songs from a single album
Ending the year (December) results in a compilation playlist-ception playlist; conistenting of all monthly playlists from said calender year within one big ‘ol playlist (playlist), as well as a “hall-of-fame” sort of playlist consisting of one favorite choice song from each individual monthly playlist. Okay, now you know all the rules; no more tricks here.
Side Quest: Required Listening
Required listening is nothing more than a fun way to keep things new and exciting in the bedroom. Requiring yourself to listen to at least 2 new albums a week not only exceeds your quota of songs for the monthly playlist, but also gives you easier avenues to explore more music at a rapid rate. Log and document these as you wish.
